2019 COMPOST SITE SCHEDULE
KINGSTON TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ONLY
Proof of residency is required to enter the site.
The Kingston Township Compost Site is currently operating on the following schedule beginning Saturday, April 6th, 2019 (weather permitting; the site will be closed during severe weather events)
Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th - 10:00 am to 5:00pm
Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, April 14th - 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday, April 20th (closed Sunday, April 21st for Easter) - 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Beginning April 27th the site will be open 7 days per week until November 30th (with the exception of holidays and weather permitting)
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday - 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Wednesday, and Friday - 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturday, and Sunday - 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
The site will be CLOSED on the following holidays: Easter (April 21st); Memorial Day (May 27th); Fourth of July (July 4th); Labor Day (September 2nd); Thanksgiving (November 28th).
COAL, WOOD, PELLET, etc. ASHES ARE NOT TO BE DUMPED AT THE SITE – Violators will be fined for littering. This waste can be put out at the curb in a marked box free of charge with your regular garbage.
Wood, broken furniture, construction debris, including concrete, is not accepted, those caught dumping unaccepted materials will be fined.
Kingston Township offers our residents free mulch ONLY…..any other material, ie dirt, rocks, modified etc. is the property of Kingston Township.
Anyone caught removing any material other than mulch will be prosecuted for theft.
Contractors are not permitted to dump or to remove mulch.
The Dallas Area Municipal Authority Composting Site, located on Rt. 118 is currently closed. Scheduled to re-open late March, early April. The site is for residents of Dallas Township and Borough and Kingston Township.

KINGSTON TOWNSHIP 2019 SPRING CLEAN-UP RULES
COUPONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!!
MONDAY through FRIDAY 8:30 TO 4:30 AT THE KINGSTON TOWNSHIP ADMINISTRATION OFFICE
Spring Cleanup will be held at the Kingston Township Public Works Facility, 225 E. Center Street, Shavertown, PA, starting Monday, May 6, 2019 through Saturday, May 11, 2019. Spring Clean-Up is always scheduled for the FIRST FULL WEEK OF MAY!
The cleanup is open to Kingston Township residents only. Proof of Township residency is required to obtain a coupon. Hours are 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 7th, Wednesday, May 9th and Friday, May 11th. Hours are 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday. May 8th and Thursday, May 10th Hours on Saturday, May 12th are 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The following items will NOT be accepted: household trash or garbage; recyclable items such as newspapers, plastics, bi-metallic cans, clear and colored glass, tree stumps, rocks; construction debris; toxic substances but not limited to paints, solvents, automotive fluids, fertilizers, medical waste or any chemicals. Other items NOT accepted include: All electronics such as TVs, computers etc. Tires, washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, furnaces, stoves, microwaves, water heaters, or other large appliances. Air conditioners or dehumidifiers that are not tagged with a certified sticker from a professional stating that the Freon has been removed will not be accepted.
Please present tattered American Flags to the staff for proper disposal.
All residents are required to obtain a coupon prior to dropping off any materials in accordance with the following fee schedule:
CARS / SM SUV’S $5.00 / 2 trip limit OR $10.00 / unlimited
VANS / MIDSIZE SUV’S $10.00 / 2 trip limit OR $25.00 / unlimited
LG. TRUCKS $35.00 / 1 trip limit
LG. SUV’S / CARGO VANS $35.00 / 1 trip limit
TRAILERS $35.00 / 1 trip limit
VEHICLES OVER 1 TON $90.00 / 1 trip limit
• Coupons are issued to the occupants of rental units, not to the owners.
• Proper ID will be required with coupon for admission to the drop-off site.
• The Township reserves exclusive right to determine residency of persons entering the site.
• The Township reserves exclusive right in determining the classification of vehicles.
BAGGED LEAF PICKUP
Yard Waste/Bagged Leaf Pickup has been scheduled for Monday, April 29, 2019 through Friday, May 3, 2019 between the hours of 7am and 3pm, Monday through Friday. Yard Waste/Bagged Leaf Pickup will be Curbside Only. Residents are advised to have yard waste and bagged leaves placed at the curbside for pick-up. Bags containing grass clippings will not be accepted. Ordinance 2004-4 prohibits the burning of leaves.
Yard waste consists of sticks and twigs bundled three (3) feet in length and one (1) foot in height and one (1) foot wide. Limit two (2) bundles, Large limbs will not be accepted. Township Ordinance also prohibits residents from sweeping leaves into gutters and roadways. The leaves block storm-drains and pose a serious maintenance problem.
The Kingston Township Police Chief Michael Moravec would like to remind residents that the Township Winter Parking Ordinance is effective November 1, 2018, and running through March 31, 2019. Under this ordinance residents are prohibited from parking vehicles on Township streets between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily. The Chief also reminds residents that vehicles are not permitted to be parked on Township streets during snowstorms, or for eight (8) hours after the end of a storm. The ordinance is designed to keep the Township streets open and clear so that snow removal measures can be effectively undertaken by the Public Works Department. The Chief urges all Township residents to cooperate in complying with the Township Ordinance to avoid enforcement measures.
