Police DepartmentChild Passenger Safety Technician Certification
Kingston Township Police Officer Robert Spencer attended and successfully completed the Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Certification course. The course, held at the Pennsylvania State Police Hazelton Barracks, took four (4) days to complete. The class comprised of classroom instruction, hand-on work with car seats and vehicles and a community safety seat check. The National Child Passenger Safety Training Program, which is partners with The National Child Passenger Safety Board, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide, provided the training to the officers.
As CPST's, the officers will put their knowledge to work through a variety of activities, including child safety seat checks where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistance with the proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts.
If you are a resident of Kingston Township and need assistance with a child restraint, call the Kingston Township Police Department at 570-696-1175 and schedule an appointment. Also, look for scheduled child safety seat checks in the near future.
